The shepherd’s wet with blood
He’s led his bleating flock to the edge
Like water to the fall
Break the bread and pour the wine
Feed the fire to watch the fire die
The shepherd’s lost the path
The wolves froth and gnash
Like drums in the dark
Spend the coins upon your eyes
Heaven is the first and final lie
In this room
In this bed
Beside you, inside my head
Tomorrow blooms
Already gone, already dead
In this house
Between these walls
Beneath this facade
I can tell
From the look in your eyes
To you I’m nothing
But something else to lose
The shepherd’s black with blood
Nailed to his own crook
Another messiah on the spit
Break the bread and pour the wine
Feed the fire just to watch the fire die
The shepherd’s drank them dry
Filled the lakes and drained the sky
Threw it up and brought the flood
Give up, let go, and cave in
This is where everything begins
A voice said, let there be light
And there was light inside of me
It was brighter than It had any right to be
But it felt like a lie
That I’d die just to believe
So I stepped off the edge
And I’m still falling
Faster and farther
Farther and longer
There is no bottom
To catch me
Falling forward while drifting backward
In the still, I plummet faster
There is nothing to stop me now
There’s a light in the darkening pane
Distant peaks on fire
Release the mortal chains
Death is desire
There’s a light in the darkening pane
Burning brighter and brighter
Release the mortal chains
Death is desire (x4)
Death is desire
One more move and I’m free
Peace is a fire
I feel it burning in me
I feel it shining in me
I feel it cauterizing
I feel nothing
I feel nothing
I feel nothing

I was always intrigued by this group's choice of album covers, it isn't every day that you see high quality space photos in this genre despite the rise of "cosmic" black metal. But the music blew me away, this sounds like Austere took the atmospheric spacey route. (I will assume it's a coincidence that both bands are Australian) porcelainheart-
On the forthcoming Tombs album "All Empires Fall," the band expands their scope and range, balancing brutal riffs with melancholy melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 29, 2016

What an album! The only reason the album didn't elevate them straight to stardom is not enough people heard it. Modern classic - from start to finish. c1ch
